Panel Discussion | Vanishing Dublin : Heritage, Witness and the Living City
As Dublin continues to change at pace, what do we stand to lose? Inspired by Gerard Byrne's Before I Go. Vanishing Dublin, this panel brings together historians, heritage advocates, and cultural voices to explore the relationship between architecture, memory, and civic identity.
From Georgian terraces to Victorian streetscapes, Dublin's built environment tells the story of where we came from. It is in that specificity that the city's unique character lives. But cities are not museums. They grow, they shift, and sometimes they forget. The thing about heritage is that you can't build it. You can only inherit it, tend to it, or betray it.
Joining moderator Donal Fallon, historian, author and presenter of the Three Castles Burning podcast, are Donough Cahill of the Irish Georgian Society, Dr Daryl Hendley Rooney of The Little Museum of Dublin, and art historian and Dublin Decoded Tours chief guide Arran Henderson.
