DESIGN WEEK DUBLIN 2026: Gallery Open Day | 11am —7pm
Home of Modern Irish Impressionism
Formerly home to Hot Press, this landmark 1909 building on Trinity Street now houses Gerard Byrne Gallery, a 2,000+ sq ft space dedicated to the work of Ireland’s foremost Modern Impressionist.
Conceived by Creative Director and co-founder Agata Byrne, an alumna of London’s Inchbald School of Design, the gallery retains the character of the original building. With industrial, loft-like proportions and architectural details, the space offers a unique experience with art in focus.
Gerard Byrne has spent nearly four decades painting professionally. He works between plein-air painting and large-scale studio works, spanning seascape, cityscape, still life and figurative subjects. Byrne’s vibrant use of colour, light and expressive brushwork has established him as a distinctive voice in contemporary Irish painting, with works held in collections in Ireland and internationally.
During Design Week Dublin, explore the broad selection of works on display at the Gerard Byrne Gallery, while gaining more insight into the importance of art in spatial design.
