Gerard Byrne Studio is proud to host an online Fundraising - Art Raffle in aid of the Irish Red Cross - Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

Gerard Byrne painted Lilies of Hope especially for this fundraiser to express his solidarity with people of Ukraine. Although sunflowers are the national flower of Ukraine and are a powerful symbol of the resistance of the Ukrainian people to the invasion by Russia, the artist chose the subject of his painting very carefully. White lilies are bursting with symbolism. They represent purity and love, commitment and rebirth, a rejuvenation of the soul and grief. Lilies pay homage to the loss felt by the Ukrainian people, whilst also recognising the need for peace and hope during such a traumatic time in our history.
This spectacular large scale oil painting, one of Gerard’s latest pieces, will be raffled off in support of Irish Red Cross relief efforts in Ukraine. For the duration of this event Lilies of Hope will be on display in the gallery window - Gerard Byrne Studio, 15 Chelmsford Road, Ranelagh, Dublin 6 (map).

The humanitarian needs over the coming days and weeks will be massive and the Irish Red Cross are appealing for more donations. They urgently need more funds to help those affected by the war get food, medicine, shelter and water. Your support will also help the Red Cross to assist those displaced by conflict.
